I attended the podiatry department today at Dewsbury health centre for my appointment where I was to have my 2 big toe ingrowing nails cut off. I was called in by a member of staff. I was told to take my shoes off and sit on the bed and to put my feet right at the end of the bed which I did and just because I was uncomfortable I lowered 1 foot down the member of staff then said quite abruptly put both feet on the bed no please or Thankyou. My daughter and i looked at each other in disgust then I was asked what I was having done which I thought they should know so I told them only to be told well who assessed you says different and a few more questions were asked. I showed the member of staff my toes- what was giving me trouble but the member of staff still said well our paperwork is saying different.
I was getting quite confused and unhappy at this stage so I asked the member if staff and their colleague who will be doing my surgery and they said they are.
Well to be honest I wasn't happy about this because they seemed as if they didn't really know what they were doing, so I asked to speak to someone else. By the time I got to speak to someone else I was told there was no way my nails could be done and another appointment will have to be made, which isn't fair when I should have had my nails done with no confusion at all, about 18 months ago I had my nails done by a lovely friendly member of staff and had no problems what so ever but this member of staff was very ignorant towards me.
