After a referral from My GP on 29th June, I received an appointment for the clinic on 10 July - in itself a sign that the NHS is doing what it says it is (in this area anyway!). I arrived at the clinic in an anxious state but was treated with care, kindness and respect by everyone I saw. The surroundings were made as nice as possible with calm colours, curtains and carpets and flowers and even drinks in the small waiting area. I appreciated being asked rather than told what to do and also the calm way staff spoke with me at every stage explaining exactly would be happening and reassuring me. The unit is tucked away so that there is no hospital traffic walking past - much appreciated when you have a gown on for most of the time. Clearly great thought has been put into making a visit to this clinic as easy as it can be and, overall, it does this due to all the excellent and compassionate staff employed here. So could anything improve this world class clinic? Only the radio beng turned down - perhaps Radio 4 or some peaceful music but that is my personal choice- I am sure many others appreciate an upbeat atmosphere. Lastly, the gowns were a bit small for me - one of the nurses even went off to find a larger one so perhaps more gowns in larger sizes might be useful.
