"Extremely poor service at childrens A&E"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

My recent visit at childrens A&E with my 10 yr for a minor injury ws a poorling, it took over 3 hours with very little explanation or empathy from staff, we left without my son getting the full treament. It may have been a different outcome had his injuries been serious. There seemed to be alot of staff wondering around and alot of patient waiting. It saddens me to see the low standards of care within the health service and the un professionalism of the staff with whom we trust with our lives, I dread the day when I have to visit there again.

Response from Leicester Royal Infirmary

Dear M.Thomas, We are really sorry to hear about your experience of our Children’s A&E department. We would like to look into your concerns further as your experience does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive, and would like to ensure we improve our service for future patients. If you are happy for us to do so, please email your details to anna.duke@uhl-tr.nhs.uk and I'll investigate. Kind regards, Anna Duke Matron, Emergency Department Leicester's Hospital
