I've had a number of operations and experienced both NHS (including Royal Berks) and private hospitals. Recently I had spinal surgery at Circle Reading as an NHS patient and they were absolutely superb! I had access to very best consultant who was clear with what options I had, expected outcomes and where I could look for additional information. Their secretary was exceptional at keeping me informed, booking appointments and if I had to reschedule, it was easy. When I turned up for appointments I was seen within 5 minutes of the appointment time. This has never happened at an NHS hospital. After surgery, the nurses on the ward were phenomal. I can not praise the whole team at Circle Reading enough and I will be writing to my local MP to a) let him know this and more importantly b) ask him why NHS hospitals rate so poorly in comparison. Why for instance does it take 2 weeks to reschedule an appointment? Why when you turn up for an appointment at 11 are you still sat waiting at 12? My experiences of every aspect at Circle Reading were simply excellent. If I could ensure that all future medical care was handled by them, I would.
