"Non Caring Doctor"

About: King George Hospital

I visited A&E today with symptoms of severe headaches (which has been on-going for the past month) and was moved through the system by the nurses with great speed and care. However when examined by the doctor (Looking in my eye and asking stroke related question), I felt rather largely ignored and not listened to regarding my concerns. Having explained that I had followed all the advice by previously using the GP service, Walk-in service and the NHS111 service and was still experiencing severe headaches. I found the doctor curt, brusque and abrupt. I was giving the impression that the doctor was having a bad day and was somewhat lacking in compassion. Especially as A&E wasn't busy during my visit. I was extremely surprise that their only suggestion was that I take even more painkillers. Very disappointed by the way I was treated by the A&E doctor. I am more than happy to discuss this further with the hospital authorities.

Thank you for your comment. I’m pleased that you were seen to quickly, however, I am disappointed at the manner you were treated. Our Emergency Departments are some of the busiest in London, and we do encourage patients to seek alternatives to A&E where appropriate. Please contact me via our PALS team on 01708 435 454, or by email PALS@bhrhospitals.nhs.uk. Yours sincerely Nadeem Moghal Medical Director
