Andrew Allen 48 I went into the day unit for a liver biopsy, and as with most things the idea of a bit of me being removed was a little disconcerting I entered the unit and reported to reception, there were a few people sat around in gowns and the first thought was OH no not another horror of a place like Lincoln ward (Talk about extremes Incompetence comes to mind) I was asked to sit down and due to the info i was given that i would have to lay flat for 6 hours after the biopsy i had brought two books, i opened a page and barely read a word and was asked to change into a gown, and by the time i appeared from the cubicle i was taken to a private room by a nurse , All the time people were constantly called away. Within 40 min i was put on a gurney and taken to a an operation room, and this was happening all the time so no one had to wait long. All the time i was treated with phenomenal respect and care and real interest by every one. once the procedure was complete by a very kind and polite man i was taken to recovery and a nurse sat with me and stayed in contact for the following 6 hours. I received real care. As a diabetic also constantly asked if i was ok and how i felt. I have been in some very exclusive private hospitals (wine menues and alacarte food) but the care can never match any of the staff i met at bexley day unit. They can never be praised enough I wish lincoln wing gould be 100th as good and professional
