"unhappy with treatment"

About: James Paget University Hospital

I was admitted to A&E via ambulance due to severe abdomen pain including diarrhoea and vomiting (also very severe) - I was admitted approx 0130hrs 22 Jun 15. I had not consumed alcohol. I vomited in the ambulance and in the room I was put. I was eventually seen by someone at approx 0415hrs - timings are approx as I was in alot of pain. At approx 0515hrs I was promptly, without choice, discharged, albeit still in alot of discomfort and very disorientated. The taxi driver actually offered more help than the staff in A&E. If not for the ambulance crew, I would have lost alot more faith in our NHS. I suffered a similar illness whilst serving in the British Army in Germany and the treatment I received was far superior - well done Germany.

Dear Gary Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback regarding your recent experience in the Accident and Emergency Department, which I have shared with the teams involved. I am sorry to hear that your care was not to the standard expected. If you would like to contact me on 01493 452304, I would be happy to discuss your experiences further and look at this in more detail for you. Alternatively you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Services (PALS) on 01493 453240 who would also be more than happy to help. Kind Regards Amanda Hood, Head of Patient Experience and Engagement
