"The midwife should not have left ..."

What could be improved
The midwife should not have left me in 2nd stage for 4 1/2 hours before contacting a dr. NICE guidelines say an obstetrician should be called after 1 hour. She should not have ignored my repreated requests for a c-section when my baby was stuck. The dr also should not have refused my request & my partner's request for a c-section considering the baby had not descended, the malposition of the baby, the fact he was a large baby & I had already had an extraordinarily long 2nd stage of 41/2 hours.
When the dr called for a consultant to be present one should have arrived.
After the birth of my child someone should have explained the nature of my injuries & their long term significance. My requests to see a specialist should have been listened to. When the midwives requested that a consultant came to see me during the 5 days I was in hospital they should have been listened to. I should not have been left with catheter for 26 days. I should not have had to send for my medical notes to discover the nature of my injuries.
Maternal injury should be considered as an equal priority to injury to the baby when decisions are taken during labour. Inexperienced staff should be properly supervised.
