Referred here 5 weeks ago by my Dentist for investigation regarding root canal filling and abcess after x rays and discussion with consultant it was decided that my procedure is well within the scope of my local dentist, I was informed at the time that there was further decay of bone between the x rays taken by my dentist 4 weeks earlier and the one that was done by this hospital, so the sooner it was sorted out the better as the full extent of the decay in the bone would not be known until my bridge was deconstructed.. I was told I would get a duplicate report and when I received it I had to arrange treatment with my dentist as they would obviously get the report at the same time, So having heard nothing for 4 weeks since appointment I rang my dentist to ask if they have any news from the hospital just in case I had not been sent the report, Nothing had been received by my dentist either so they contacted hospital and were told that it can take 8 weeks before the report is typed up and ready to go out. I find this totally unacceptable and I'm very upset that I am been made to wait this length of time, I am aware that the health service is very busy but 8 weeks to send a report back to my dentist is frankly ridiculously poor service.
