"Care for my wife"

About: Elite Care (Scotland) Ltd

(as a service user),

The carers who come to take care of my wife are very nice. They have been coming to help us for two years and generally are very good.

Sometimes they get held up and cannot get here on time but we usually wait for half an hour before making any enquiries because these things happen and they can get delayed.

The only very small criticism is that there is a bar across the bath on which my wife sits when she is being washed and this does not always get cleaned very well – it’s only a minor thing though.

Thank you for sharing your experience of the care received from Elite Care for your wife. There is normally a 15 minute window permissible with most local authorities to allow for delays in carers visiting. If the delay is going to be longer than 15 minutes then you should get a call from your local office to inform you of the time the carer is expected. Unfortunately this depends on the carer contacting the office in the first place to let them know he/she is running late, something that doesn't always happen.

In regards to your concern about cleaning the bath rail, if you are able to contact your local Elite Care office and speak to the coordinator for your wife's support the coordinator should then be able to notify the carers who attend and update them and also update the support plan.

The local office numbers are;

Fife - 01334 476262

Perth/Crieff - 01764 656300

Dundee - 01382 223559

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with Care Opinion.
