"Transferred to Good Hope hospital due to poor care..."
About: Birmingham Women's Hospital Birmingham Women's Hospital Birmingham B15 2TG
Attended three ante natal appointments at the hospital before deciding to transfer to the other side of the city and a new Trust. Staff I saw spoke poor English which made the ultrasound very challenging added on top of that trainee midwives and a 4-hour wait to see a Consultant and being expected to wait in a small waiting room with no window, air or enough seating was outside of what I would expect for NHS care in the UK. The hospital clearly serves a wide range of social, racial and ethnic groups of people from across the city and are not reflective of the area in which the hospital is located. I felt uncomfortable with staff and the receptionists and booking clerks were not abrupt and rude. All-in-all I did not enjoy any aspect of the "care" I received at the hospital and did not want my baby born there. I therefore exercised my right to choose where to give birth to my baby.
