"Upset by call to St. Helens Eye Clinic"

About: St Helens Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I have been really happy with the staff and treatment at the eye clinic until today.

I just called with a concern about forthcoming cataract surgery. I had been told that there was a lady who came to the department to talk to people about their concerns, eye care needs.. I asked about this and was told 'I'm a nurse ask me'.

I proceeded to ask about my concern about my glasses not being useful once I'd had surgery and what they suggested. I tried to explain I have another eye condition which means my eye sight won't be 'cured". I explained I was worried how I would cope with work etc if I could only see with one eye.

She just said 'I will leave that between you and your optician love'. I'm totally unhappy and upset by her lack of concern about my worries.
