"Left Bemused"

I was staying at centre parks last week unfortunately I had to visit due to cronic abdominal pain, I was the only person in the waiting room but it took 40 minutes to be seen. Eventually I was and my blood was taken, which was then lost to be found an hour later, I was seen by 2 different doctors and sent to ward 14 after been given a lot of morphine which I was very grateful for. I understand that the ward I was moved to was a surgical admissions ward so there was some very ill people around me most more so than me but there was a few things I experienced which I feel should be brought to your attention. I had to have a scan which wasn't until the next day but until then I had been nil by mouth, I had to ask if I could eat as no one had said I could I hadn't eaten for 20 hours. I also heard a very loud mouthed person talking about me at the ward desk saying that I was going home, I had to ask a nurse what was going on as it happened I was staying, no one came to tell me this. While I tried to sleep I listened to the night nurses shouting down the corridor "who wants Macdonalds" actually I did as my meal was awful (fish and chips). I listened to a consultant tell a very worried husband when he asked "do you think that's definitely what's wrong with her?" They replied "well I have been doing this for 34 years". I also heard a different doctor say to the same patient its not my job to tell you everything is going to be ok just that we hope it will be??? The same consultant was extremely rude to me the next day and if I had had to have surgery I would not of let them any where near me. Lastly I would like to comment on the individual room that I was moved to from an empty ward room at 00.45 although it may not be the intention, I found it very lonely and to be honest a chance to be ignored been in hospital is bad enough but putting people on their own more often than not I don't feel is something that helps anyone get better or feel looked after. At least if your in a room with other people even if a nurse walks by and smiles it can mean so much and you can talk to people. I had to ask them to leave the door open as I felt locked away. I would like to commend most of the nurses though who were lovely and would not like to take away from them their hard work.
