"7 yr old son ignored"

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

I took my 7 yr old son in with severe neck pain. After waiting an hour, and with my son crying and whaling in pain, I asked how long til the triage nurse would see him. I was told he was next, however several more patients booked in and we're seen before us. After 1 hour 35 mins I went to reception and told them I was taking him home - he was tired. With that they took me to see albeit the person in charge who asked me some questions, shouting across the hall way, and them made a phone call. I thought it was about my son but the member of staff continued to have a nice discussion about the amount of phone calls they and the other hospital had received, then ended the call and typed something up on the computer while my son is trying to prop himself up against the wall. We are now home and he is dosed up with more pain killers. All I can say is disgusted with the lack of compassion for a 7 yr old boy. I understand they are busy but come on.

Dear Christina, Thank you for your comments about your son's treatment. I am really sorry to see that you had such a poor experience and will certainly ensure that this is fed back to the A&E clinical management team. If you would like to give us any further details, please do not hesitate to contact us via pals@bsuh.nhs.uk.
