My mum was taken to NGH A&E twice within a few days and on both occasions was treated with great care and sensitivity, especially when procedures were painful and unpleasant. Support staff, nursing staff and doctors took heed of the information we gave about Mum's condition and anxieties. Without exception, she was managed very well. Furthermore, we were impressed by the various nurses and doctors who came to explain procedures, test results and their implications. The only downside was the amount of time between different procedures or elements of treatment. However, as it was a Sunday and also a Bank Holiday weekend, this was possibly unavoidable. Mum was eventually admitted to the Frailty Ward, where, again, the reception was warm and very caring.
"Very sensitive care of my frail, elderly mum."
