"Day surgery /removal of polyps"

About: Trafford General Hospital

I went to Ward 12 at 715 am on 14/05/2015 to get ready for an operation on polyps in both nostrils. Everything went to plan and l had everything explained by nurses/consultants prior to my operation, everybody l met was positive and friendly. l eventually was released at 640 pm after a late problem involving my tongue swelling up delaying my discharge. l am now 5 days after the op and I'm progressing very well. thank you to everyone, especially the head nurse of ward 12 who ran the ward like a captain of industry, magnificent,l told them so before l left, Now one thing they could improve on is that the nurses taking personal details from the patients spoke too loudly and the privacy of the answers from the patients from behind curtains were heard by others who had no right or need to know,it was really private and personal stuff, everybody knew each other's personal data.low voices at least ????thanks for everything else

Your kind comments recognise the hard work and dedication of our nursing staff in ensuring all our patients have a positive experience. Please also accept our thanks for your feedback about how we can improve privacy and dignity. We expect all of our staff to respect the privacy and dignity of every patient, and we are sorry that this was not observed on the day of your operation. The importance of maintaining confidentiality has been raised with staff by the ward manager during ward meetings, so that staff can reflect on how they communicate sensitive information while in the patient bays to prevent a recurrence of your experience.
