"Pharmacy are shocking"

About: Tameside General Hospital

Was told my prescription would be 15-20 mins and was still sat around waiting 40mins later,I asked the dispenser how much longer it would be and they asked the pharmacist who was very rude in their answer but I was again told it wouldn't be long all in all I had to wait 55 mins

We are really sorry you have had cause to raise this. It is difficult to respond without knowing when you attended the hospital pharmacy regarding waiting for your prescription to be dispensed. It is usual for 90% of prescriptions to be dispensed within 30 minutes.

I apologies for the pharmacist being rude to you such behaviour regarding staff attitude we take very seriously, if you would like us to look into this in more detail please can I ask you contact our Chief Pharmacist on 0161 922 6291

John Goodenough

Director of Nursing

‘’Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved? Please contact John Goodenough, Director of Nursing at john.goodenough@tgh.nhs.uk
