"No Parking Facilities"

About: Altrincham General Hospital

I am very upset about the non existent parking facilities at the new hospital. There is no parking for patients provided. There are no parking arrangements for the elderly, disabled or those coming to the minor injuries clinic. It is disgraceful ... planning should have taken into account parking facilities for the above. There is a shortage of decent parking in Altrincham. How could planning permission be given for this development I dont know. How am I going to manage my 94 year old father who has dementia & great difficulty in walking for more than a few yards?

Thank you for your feedback.

Patient comments are important to us and are an opportunity for us to make changes and improvements wherever possible. We would also like to take the opportunity to apologise for the delay in replying to your comments.

In response to your comment regarding disabled parking, Altrincham Hospital has 6 dedicated disabled parking bays which are for blue badge holders only. Patients who require a disabled parking space should telephone the Reception Team on 0161 413 7701 in order to pre-book and reserve a parking space for their appointment. We would advise you to contact the Reception Team to make arrangements for assistance with your father’s appointments.

There is a drop-off parking bay outside the main entrance to the hospital to allow access for patients who have mobility difficulties. The Trust is currently working closely with Trafford Council to identify additional disabled parking on Railway Road alongside the hospital.

I hope that our explanations offer you reassurance regarding your concerns and you will feel able to continue using the facilities offered by Altrincham Hospital however, if you would like to discuss your concerns with us in more detail, please feel free to contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0161 276 8686 or by e-mailing pals@cmft.nhs.uk
