About: Pembury Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I would like to congratulate the Rheumatology Department, who treated me for a frozen shoulder from April to November 2009. On my first visit, I was very surprised to be examined, x-rayed diagnosed and treated all within the space of just over an hour. All staff were efficient and courteous, I was seen on time, and did not have to wait for the x-ray or the consultation that followed it.. Follow up appointments were similarly on time and I was particularly impressed that when experiencing a reaction to the second injection was brought straight back to the hospital to check for infection, of which none was found, and I was even phoned twice subsequently by the consultant to check that it had all settled down. I have now been signed off after my third follow-up visit and the shoulder is now effectively pain free with almost full mobility returned.

What could be improved

Car parking- I had no change for the parking machine, thankfully a kind member of the public helped me out. I think it is dreadful that people should have to pay to park at a hospital.
