I am so upset and cross. I had an emergency c section at 5am on Wednesday morning (22nd April), (Dr and delivery team were incredibly brilliant by the way, and I cannot thank them enough) I was only 34 weeks pregnant, I had a cord prolapse, placental abruption and whilst in theatre a haemorrhage I was told. I believe that it was touch and go for both my baby and myself. I still haven't been able to hold my baby who is in NICU having the most incredible, brilliant care. Obviously having had major abdominal surgery I was (am) extremely sore and yet less than 24 hrs later being told I had to go home now. This continued throughout Thursday, Friday,Saturday and today, Sunday. After repeatedly telling the Midwife yesterday and today, that I didn't feel ready, and could I go Monday morning instead? This midwife who has the worst attitude and bedside manner, called a Dr in. I was then told by this Dr that "we will have to close maternity ward because you are taking up a bed that's needed" I am thoroughly disgusted. I have been nothing but polite and calm throughout my 'stay' to several midwives who's attitudes have stunk and through being told completely different things daily. (Do they all train learning different advice?) I apologise for still being in pain?! It's bad enough to have not been able to hold your baby (however, I understand completely the reason and am so very grateful for his care) but to feel pushed out constantly and then to be told that maternity ward will have to close essentially because of me (ward isn't full either!!) is very, very wrong. I have written a list of names of the people who I can remember who's attitudes have been terrible. I am thoroughly disappointed in these people, I am a massive supporter of the NHS and yet these people let down what is a phenomenal service and so needed to so many. Thank you to the staff I have listed for being so brilliant, talented and amazing. To the other staff who I have listed, for making a sore and upset new mother feel like you have made me feel, you are in the wrong job. Thank you for making an already difficult time worse.
"Absolutely disgusting."
