Having had an ankle fracture a couple of months ago my recovery has been slow and very painful. A couple of weeks ago I started to get terrible pain on the top of my foot around my fourth toe. I have been doing everything advised by my doctor and taking regular pain killing medication I have been back at work full time for a week. However by Friday the 24th of April I was in excruciating pain and walking was terribly difficult. I had been up most of the night so decided to go to A and E! This was the saturday morning. I was seen quite quickly in triage and was then sent through to see a nurse practioner who specialises in fractures and breaks. OMG they were so aggressive, wiggled my foot pressed it and the pain was terrible. They took my pulse and the said it was racing and I was almost tachycardic. they then said is it because you don't like hospitals and I wanted to say its because you are nasty and aggressive. I did have an xray that showed no obvious fracture but I'm still in terrible pain and don't know where to go from here. I am 55 years old and not a drama queen.
