"So impressed!"

I was very distressed at experiencing extreme blood loss due to a fibroid. After visiting a specific consultant gynaecologist, I received excellent care! It is a complex and ongoing issue which led me to change my mind on what treatments I felt were appropriate at the time. At all times, I felt decisions I made were valued and respected, and the consultant ensured that they were informed choices. When I decided that the merina coil was the only way forward, even though I had technically been discharged, I had an appointment within a week for the fitting. Both the consultant and a lovely nurse had excellent bedside manners and were extremely helpful - easing what was initially quite a lot of anxiety! If only this was what the NHS could look like. As a nurse in the NHS myself, we can only dream unfortunately....
