"Appalling switchboard service"

Having failed to get an answer ringing the Sexual Health GUM clinic, I rang the hospital switchboard to ask if they were open. I was abruptly told "No idea - They are nothing to do with us - We are just the switchboard". All they offered was to put me through to the Clinic number again - no reply again. Appalling utterly uncaring service. The switchboard operators need both proper training on serving customers, be better informed, and know where to go for information they do not have to hand.
