I found the care and service I received from my initial appointment right throuh to the aftercare from surgery was excellent. The staff were very approachable and caring and made me feel relaxed - especially important as I was terribly nervous about my hernia operation. The consultant surgeon was excellent in explaining the procedure and giving me choices of dates for the operation. They gave me confidence that I would be well looked after. The entire staff in the team were superb and I could not have wished for better. Thank you for making my operation and stay as comfortable as possible. The hospital itself was immaculately clean and had a calm relaxed atmosphere which enhances its excellence.

Dear Carole, I can appreciate why you were nervous before your operation - it's a very natural reaction and one that we would anticipate. I am so glad that our staff responded to this with warmth and compassion and that this in turn enabled you to trust in their care and relax. Glad too that the clean and comfortable environment at Hexham brought an additional sense of calm for you.
