I have had numerous procedures at the Thornbury Hospital, Sheffield all in regards to my spine. All of my procedures have involved a brief stay in Theatre recovery, spanning over the last 7 years. I recover very quickly after anathestic, so are able to monitor what's happening, (plus I'm nosey of the environment). There is a member of staff in there, who treats everybody as an individual ensuring there full needs are met at all times. They ensure that every patient receives the same level of care. At the same time they ensure that new staff/ward staff and trainees, also have their full attention. My latest visit to recovery, I was in immense pain and yet again this member of staff put everybody before themself, they even didn't go on breaks to ensure everybody received their excellent skills. This member of staff is in a job which they are very proud of. This member of staff should receive recognition from the CEO as they are an asset to Thornbury Hospital. As I'm unable to find an e-mail address for the CEO, I though it would be good to leave the feedback on here, hoping this is passed to their senior management.
"Theatre recovery nurses, never seem to receive..."
