I visited a & e today as I was told by the 111 service that I phoned. Receptionist was lovely quite a short wait so it was going well until I went to see the triage nurse. I should of known really as there was quite a lot of talk in the waiting room about a rude nurse telling people to ' go away ur wasting our time'! They called my name then walked off I guessed I was to follow.. Their second sentence to me after asking what was wrong was ' no u shouldn't be here!' With the rudest most disgusted sneer on their face. The whole time I was there I was treated with disdain and a lecture on how unhappy they are that the 111 service was sending unnecassary people to go to a & e. I know why I was sent there as the 111 suspected I had a fractured rib- I may still have a fractured rib the nurse would never know- they hardly looked at me! Very unhappy with this nurse. In the few times I've dealt with nhs the staff have always been lovely. My mums an rgn who has worked at qa for years. This nurse has an awful bedside manner and is an absolute embarrassment to their profession, their place of work and themself.
"A & e triage nurse was a disgrace"
