"If you change your GP read this review!"

About: Salisbury District Hospital

feel free to read my previous review 10th Sept 2013. At this time I was oblivious to the unknown. Here's the situation, Patient Referred to the hospital simple, However the patient leaves the GP practice before attending the hospital, the patient reports it on their first visit, its a simple change to the IPM system. Not. Here goes. This hospital only writes clinical letters to the referring GP, doesn't matter in the least if you are registered at another practice. Despite bringing it to their attention over months it was only on the day my complaint hit them did their systems miraculously update themselves. Despite the fact the clinical history held at the new practice should be kept up to date and that the referring GP does not have a need to know it has happened to me and it was a breach. I am sorry to have to inform that I no longer trust why should I ? Patient centred care/ equity & excellence the data protection principle's article 8 family life are very important. So if you change your GP to another surgery be aware "they could send it to the referring GP" check your GP does receive letters following any change. Otherwise care good and have met some lovely staff members who are a credit to the NHS.
