"Very caring staff"

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

Yesterday I took my som to the A&E as a doctor in walk in suspected meningitis (red spots) on my arrival, a professional sat at the desk, they were nice but looked a bit tired (prob long working hours and the amount of patience didn't help either) there were about 6 children ingront of us, we were seen by a nurse (who was lovely) within 20 minutes of our arrival. Shortly after, probably another 20/30minutes (which I felt was acceptable we were seen by a doctor (sorry forgot your name :-( but they were lovely too) they went the extra mile toile sure they ask for a second opinion to make sure my son can go home and I wouldn't have to worry. Another doctor popped in, they checked Jayden asked a few questions then excused themself.anf the other doctor to consult what next (they were also polite and nice) but to my surprise they didn't just come back and said you can go home, they got a third (yes third) opinion (this made me feel 1. A bit worried but 2. Happy that they cared so much that they made sure my son had the best possible care) so the third doctor arrived ( lovely and very funny doctor they instantly started having a joke as soon as they entered a room) they had another look at my son and explained what could have caused the rash and reassured me my son is ok, but made it very clear I must watch him and explained what to do next. If this is not an excellent care than what is? I walked out of there as one calm and happy mom. Thank you to all of you for everything you've done, you are truly Heros in my eyes, you do an amazing job every day, working long hours with huge pressure and you still manage to provide 110% care. A big thank you to you all! LS

It was very kind of you to take the time to write about your experience and compliment the staff. It is good to receive positive feedback which reflects the hard work and dedication of our staff, and your comments have been forwarded to the Clinical Lead and Modern Matron to be shared with the team.
