"Seeing a doctor about my sons legs"

About: NHS Telford and Wrekin CCG Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as a parent/guardian),

I have seen a doctor previously about my sons legs and he sent him for x-rays which he informed me were all clear. However when returning a few months later for further advice I saw a locum who wasn’t all that much help with other reasons for my visit but did inform me that the notes on the x-ray said to refer for advice. This wasn’t carried out that there were months of delay. And my sons doctor’s appointment was booked weeks in advance so I do not see why I had to see a locum when I was expecting a doctor from my surgery who was at least a little good with children.

TRAQS were brilliant. Very quick in getting in touch and lovely and very friendly on the phone. My only disappointment was the 2 month wait for appointments although I recognise this isn’t Traqs fault.

Dear Pilot257

I am sorry to hear that you experienced some problems with the initial referral from your GP practice. May I suggest that you discuss your concerns with the Practice Manager who will be able to take more details and look into your concerns further.

In relation to your experience when contacted by TRAQS I am pleased that the person you spoke to was able to help you arrange an appointment even though the wait was longer than anticipated. Thank you for recognising that the longer waits for appointments is not TRAQS fault.

Thank you for responding to our request for feedback with such positive comments. Your praise is really appreciated as everyone within TRAQS does their best to ensure that patients receive a quality service when speaking to one of the team.
