"Kidney stones and a curved spine but my CT scan found 'no abnormalities'"

About: Great Yarmouth and Waveney PCT / Community physiotherapy

(as the patient),

I had a CT scan as I had bowel problems. Everything for that area showed up ok so the hospital wrote a letter to say that my CT scan showed up no abnormalities.

I then rung up the doctor for a emergency appointment as I had pain in my side and back. He rung back and spoke to me in a manner which felt like he was shouting at me, saying I had nothing wrong, my CT scan says I have nothing and no cancers. I then saw another Dr, he sent me to consultant and low and behold I have kidney stones. I asked the consultant ‘Why did my CT scan say I was ok?’ They said they were only looking at your bowel.

I have recently gone to physio and asked for a back scan as I have back problems. Low and behold, I have a curve at the bottom of my spine and deterioration from my shoulder blades down to my spine.

When I see I saw the Dr again I told him what the physio said. They looked at me in a way that made me feel like they thought I was lying and said ‘The letter reads that your CT scan found no abnormalities’. I’m really fed up with their disbelief. I have since had a full body scan at the hospital which only reported one thing. Just wondering what else they found but didn’t report on…
