The worst thing was the waiting time in A & E - I fell and broke my wrist and waited about 2 hours to see a nurse, although I wasn't long getting an X-ray. But I was hours waiting to see a doctor in the plaster room. There was only one emergency doctor on duty, which didn't seem enough. Altogether, my friends who were with me were there for 6 hours before I was treated and taken to a ward. I was taken to C4 and the nurses and staff were really lovely - nothing was too much trouble and their care was great.
My operation was cancelled the day after I went in, but carried out on the second day. I was moved to E4 ward and all the staff there were very caring and looked after me very well. The food was good and as I could only use one hand they cut my food up for me so that I could manage to eat OK. I was in hospital for four days and was cared for very well.
