I had an interview with the nurse first at Nottingham City Hospital which was good. The endoscopy was terrifying as I opted for no sedation (mistake. I should never have this done without sedation again). I felt dreadful during this experience and pretty knocked out afterwards. So I went straight to bed at home and recovered after a few hours sleep.
When I had my first meal at supper time since the previous evening. The nurses were good but hurried me at the end when I felt exhausted.
I also had an intravenous urogram in the radiology department. This was painless but lasted a long time as the staff were looking at my kidneys and bladder. Unfortunately I was photographed at the same time as someone I knew and having heard just what he said I kept my voice low when asked by the doctor why I had come and omitted to tell him that I was bleeding from “somewhere” as well as the cystitis for six years or more. I did not have enough privacy. This I realise was a very unusual thing to happen, but I feel it could have been more private. Otherwise the staff were fine.
