"Good Hospital care, lack of help at the East..."

I have been helping a friend attend ESH for Cancer treatment. Her care from the nurses and doctors involved in her treatment has been excellent, both as an in patient and outpatient. Everyone has been very kind and helpful. Today I parked outside the East entrance and went to get a wheelchair, as my friend, being very poorly cannot walk far. As my friend got out of my car her legs gave way and as she is a large lady, I struggled to hold her. I let her down as gently as I could and went for help. A kind gentleman came to my rescue, he was looking after the wheelchairs. Another man, I think a visitor came to help and between the three of us we managed to get my friend in a wheelchair. After my friends appointment, I needed to get her back into my car and politely asked some ambulance men, who were not busy if it was possible to help, explaining she had a fall earlier. "No" was their reply," we are only allowed to help our patients!" As there were no porters in the area, I found a kind nurse eventually, elderly, like myself, she kindly helped me, although busy and carefully - neither of us being very big, we managed to safely put my friend in my car. Surely all hospital patients deserve help from hospital staff, I have realised without help I cannot cope and my friend will now need hospital transport.
