About: Horton General Hospital Horton General Hospital Banbury OX16 9AL
After months of suffering pain, I'd been referred for an ultrasound that picked up pcos. I was then told by the gynae dr to take contraceptive pills to balance hormones. I explained that I could not take hormones due to getting severe hormone related migraines and being told that I have a high stroke risk. She then suggested a more a coil, the implant and the injection. All of which deliver hormones. There was no other suggestions. It was take it or leave it. I was told that although I was bleeding, and in constant pain that it wasn't caused by pcos and therefore it was dismissed. I wasn't listened to, and then was given a half/hearted feel of my abdomen, a smear - which made me bleed ( I'm not talking about a spot of blood, I'm talking about a gush) and then told that I wasn't bleeding at the time - despite her glove covered in blood and the nurse giving me a pad for the bleeding...!? I have now been discharged back to gp care, having gained nothing and back at square one. I am not happy at all. I wish if have gone to the JR, but if I had, then maybe I would have been listened to. I feel like my only option now is to put up with the dizziness, the headaches and the flooding every couple of hours until I either pass out, or can't stand it anymore and go to a&e. Neither of which I am particularly thrilled about.
