"Unable to diagnose a chest infection on a baby..."

After a full month of ups and down where our son was sick and went through two courses of different antibiotics. We brought our son twice to the Whittington paediatric a&e. The first time was after the first course of antibiotics when our baby was still feeling unwell. After the usual three hours of wait we got quickly dismissed saying that everything was viral. The second time was after a two weeks course of another antibiotic. As our baby was still sick we got referred by the local practice to the Whittington paediatric a&e with a referral letter and a suggestion to ask for a chest x-Ray. We got to the Whittington where the letter was overlooked and almost lost, we had to repeat three times all our explanation. We had no x-Ray, just a blood test saying that there was an infection which was being fighted. Again we have been told that it was viral with no need of a further antibiotic. We spent five hours to hear all this. Three hours after having left the Whittington the temperature of our baby rose to 40 plus. On the next day we went to the Portland and in less than 2 hours our baby got an x-ray, 2 swaps, blood tests and got diagnosed a chest infection. My impression is that the Whittington don't treat your son. They are very good at saving money and avoiding tests which could help the health of your son.
