"Waiting for appointment for a"

About: St James's University Hospital

After suffering multiple consecutive miscarriages, I was referred by my consultant for a hysteroscopy. There was also a 'shadow' seen about a year ago after HSG tube test, but wasn't followed up on. It's now 3 weeks on and I still haven't heard anything. I understand waiting lists, but previously, appointments have come through very quickly, with a longer wait afterwards. It's scary, waiting to know what is wrong. I can't help but think I won't have the procedure for a long time, which is absolutely soul-destroying after trying so long for a family, losing so many babies and now a long, long wait to find out if there's something causing it. Private isn't an option (quoted over £2000).

I am very sorry to hear about the delays in your appointments and understand that this must be a very worrying time for you. Hopefully, you will have heard something by now.

If you have not had your results I would be happy to look into the matters you have raised, However, there is not enough information included in your post for me to investigate further. I would therefore ask that you contact our Trust’s Patient Advise and Liaison Service (PALS).

This would allow us look into the matters you have raised and contact the relevant management to see why there has been a delay. This would also allow us to see what lessons we could learn from your experience.
