I had recently been admitted for 24hrs and had the privilege of being given a bed in the AAU. After 24hrs with the care and attention from the medical staff I was fixed, but I was left traumatised from the experience. Two days after being discharged I still have the smell of urine and excrement up my nostrils it is hard to get rid of. The quality of the 'food' left me speechless. I've never before seen breakfast served from a slop bucket and instead of having a simple slice of toast, bread and butter was thrown onto a plate and handed to me the best one was glow in the dark lasagne served one lunch time. The meals where stodgy no flavour and you certainly couldn't have eaten anything with your eyes. They offered fresh fruit which appeared to be fresh at some point! but is now all soft and tasteless. I can go on and on, such a shame that in prison you can be fed better quality food than your local hospital!
