"Long wait for X ray result."

About: West Cornwall Hospital (Penzance)

I attended the X ray department for a painful problem with my hip on Jan 19th and today is Jan 29th and the result hasn't been sent to my GP yet. In an age of digital imaging and electronic [email] transmission why does it take so long?
