I was referred to Addenbrooke's hospital by Camdoc after experiencing intense pain in my stomach for most of the day. I was given pain meds within 15 mins of arriving at A&E (and although these didn't work for long I was grateful for the 15mins of relief!) and within the hour I taken through and was being seen by the surgical team. Initially the cubical I was taken to had already been reserved for an ambulance patient and the next bay I was taken to had no bed. I was then taken through to another area and the staff were amazing, they gave me various drugs and drips and made me feel slightly more human again! The care I received from the staff on J13 was brilliant and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of them. They provided me with a toothbrush, toothpaste and soap (which were all gratefully received!) The surgical team made me feel like I was in charge of my treatment and I left informed throughout my stay. My only complaint would be that I had to ask for pain meds several times before i was given anything. I think this was due to my notes not being clear enough but once that was sorted I could not fault my service/treatment.
