"I just want to thank all of the staff that dealt with me"

Hi, apologies in advance for the long post!

I had my first total hip replacement surgery a few days ago January at the Golden Jubilee.

I was very tense, nervous and worried when I arrived but the wonderful staff at the admissions desk really put me at ease. I was passed through quickly to SDU, where again the nurses were very helpful and understanding. I was taken through for my sedation and spinal, where the anaesthetist and nurses completely alleviated my fears. I really couldn't have been in better hands and will be forever grateful to them for their kindness.

The operation was nowhere near as bad as I had imagined and my consultant was very clear and kept me well informed, from post op to recovery. I actually woke up feeling happy!

I was transferred up to 2 West ward and was under the excellent care of the nursing staff there. Nothing was too much bother and they really do care for their patients incredibly well. Couldn't have asked for any better treatment.

I just want to thank all of the staff that dealt with me for making my operative experience, which was a very scary prospect for me, a very positive one. I will have absolutely no qualms now about planning my next hip replacement (due in about 3 months) and can only hope to return to this wonderful hospital.
