my mother was having an operation, she had to be at the hospital for 11 am. Which I was going to stay with her till they took her for the operation. I was told by the receptionist that I was not allowed to stay (my mother was already in distress about the op, that is why I was going to stay). after I left she was sat in the waiting area up till 1:25 pm, with other patients that had people sat with them for support even though I was told to leave. After operation she was moved to a ward, she was feeling sick so when the evening meal was being handed out she told the nurse she didn't want anything and asked if she was able to take a sandwich and leave it for later, but didn't give her the sandwich but instead said if you hungry later well make u some toast, she was not asked again if she was hungry I had to fetch a sandwich for her. The next day went to pick her up after being discharged. she had told the nurse that she felt like she wanted to be sick but left her due to her been discharged. I arrived on the ward to be told by my mother she was walking from the ward to the lobby (even though she had been told by the doctor not to walk or do anything). I found a wheelchair and took her down my self. As we got to the lobby she began to vomit various nurses and doctor just walk past us while she vomited in to a sick bowl, after she finished I had to dispose of it my self having to walk across the lobby past the café. to the toilet. I will say the cleanliness of the hospital was very good but the lack of common sense and patient care could be vastly improved.
"patient care could be a lot better"
