Had to take my 4 year old to A&E on the 21st Jan as school called me to say she had swallowed something at school they thought it was a button but were not sure. Arrived at A&E and were seen very quickly for assessment, the children's waiting area is so lovely now separated off from the general area, clean with new toys and books. We were then seen by the doctor quickly who did a couple of tests and sent us for a Xray which was also done quickly with helpful staff. The doctor saw us again really quickly with the results and brought my daughter some milk and a sandwich so she could make sure she could swallow correctly and all seemed fine. Everything was explained to us clearly the doctor was lovely and she also mentioned some other real risks of children swallowing small batteries which I already knew but some people don't so I think that was useful also. We had a very positive experience and were sent home feeling confident all was checked out as much as possible and my daughter was fine. Just wanted to post this positive comment to thank the team working there especially the lady doctor that saw us who I think went above and beyond to look after us.
