"My husband was treated very well"

About: Westmorland General Hospital / Langdale Unit

(as a relative),

I am writing on behalf of my husband who attended Westmoreland General Hospital (Langdale Unit) to treat a UTI. It was of great help to my husband, who is blind and has advanced Parkinson’s disease, that he was helped to eat his food at each meal. The availability of a quiet room where there is no TV or radio would be welcome, both by patients and visitors. The physiotherapists and the occupational therapists were particularly helpful during my husbands treatment.

Thank you for your posting. I am very grateful to you for taking the time to feed back your experience.

I was very pleased to read your positive comments about the care your husband received whilst on the Langdale Unit. I was particularly pleased that appropriate support was given at meal times and that Physiotherapy & Occupation Therapy treatment was of a high standard. I will take great pleasure in feeding back your comments to all members of the team.

I take on board (and agree with) your point about a 'quite room'. The Langdale Unit will undergo a full refurbished in the near future and I will ensure your comments are considered during the design process.

Thank you again for your supportive feedback.

Best wishes

Graeme
