"lack of communication"

About: NHS Borders

(as the patient),

Made appointment to have ears syringed after putting almond oil in for 10 days. Doctor made prescription for Cerumol and to make another appointment for syringing. Enquired at Merse desk and was sent to another desk to be told if I wanted ears done at Chirnside I would have to phone them or maybe go back to the Merse Desk. Disappointed no one owned the problem and annoyed I had a 25 mile round trip for nothing. Maybe better communication between desks would help

Dear ‘bobbysdad’

I am sorry about the communication difficulties you experienced when you went to have your ears syringed. I have passed your feedback onto the Practice Manager, Claire Fernandez, who explained that there can be communication challenges when treatment is being provided between Duns and Chirnside as they use different computer systems. This is why you had to go back to the original window when you wanted to change your appointment to Chirnside. She would be happy to speak to you to explain and resolve any issues you may have. Her contact number is 01361 885030.

Best wishes, Stephen Bermingham – NHS Borders.
