Last night my little boy (age 4) was taken by ambulance to Stepping Hill after having a convulsion, he's never had one before and it appears to have been caused by Ingham temperature, the ambulance guys were amazing, the children's A&E staff were brilliant, one even went to buy him some orange juice to help get fluids into him (he's not a fan of plain water like his mum) and the staff on Brambles Ward who looked after us both over night, everyone was amazing, dealing with his fear, making him laugh, checking on him regularly. Everything was clean, we were dealt with very quickly, the only wait we had was for discharge but the nurse explained that was because there was a very poorly baby in that had to take priority (quite rightly so) but we kept ourselves entertained with all the computer games, DVDs and toys until they were free. Thank you Stepping a Hill, for easing our worries and for looking after us, are you resourced enough? by no means, but you do the best with what you have, better than you get credit for. Well done!
