Getting information from this hospital is like getting blood out of a stone. My 90yr old mother was on Ward 14 with chest pains. At 7pm the Consultant told me her chest xray was fine and she was well enough to return to her Care Home next day Dec 31st. On Jan 2nd I received a call from the hospital asking for a personal item for my mother. When I said I had expected her to be discharged on Dec 31st the nurse said my mother had 'a touch of pneumonia' and would be in hospital for a few more days. No one thought to let me know the change in her condition! My mother was subsequently discharged and unfortunately was taken back to A&E last night. In order to find out what ward she is on, I have telephoned, waited for someone to answer, been passed on, waited again, telephoned again, waited for someone to answer, been passed on to an engaged tone and I still have no information.
