"Not good enough"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

Having waited 40 min for an ambulance with my son with a dislocated knee we decided to move him to AE ourselves so cancelled the ambulance!! On arrival we were triaged relatively quickly but it would be quick if all the triaging is as superficial. Having had a full dislocation the triage nurse didn't even look at my sons knee. She clearly had no idea of the vascular implications of the injury. After waiting 3 hrs we saw a doctor who requested an urgent X-ray. We left AE after 4 and half hours on crutches with a fracture clinic appointment. My concern is that the triage nurse only thought it was relevant to ask about allergies. My sons only AE admission in 23 years and considering the severity of the injury his care was sorely lacking! Also wondering why my first review hasn't been put on the site.
