After being sent to A&E for urgent attention, my adult son was left waiting over an hour before seeing any doctor, despite the fact that he had a letter from his GP for him to be seen as an emergency - I phoned Beacon and was told, yes he is waiting and soon as we have a doctor available he will be seen - I asked if an emergency usually had to wait for over an hour to be seen - I think the Isle of Wight NHs needs shaking up quite a lot. I say this as I have only lived on the Isle of Wight for 4 years and previously worked for the NHS in Croydon where it is much more efficient. I must mention that having called a doctor out last Sunday (111) to see my son This doctor told me that that the Island is very short of doctors, he said he works evenings and weekends as he prefers that to working in a surgery. So isn't it time more doctors were recruited for the Island, especially Male doctors who seem to be in very short supply.
"Very dissatisfied"
