"The Early pregnancy Assessment Centre"

About: Dorset County Hospital

I am very unhappy with the care I received at the EPAC at Dorset County Hospital. I was treated there in Feb 2013 with a miscarriage at 8 weeks and despite going to A and E in pain and having miscarriage I was the made to wait a week for my scan and then treated with very little regard for my emotional well being by the staff, even trying to claim I may not have been pregnant at all in the beginning, so insensitive. I have recently suffered another miscarriage and this time was refused a scan and am now having to go and pay privately for a scan tomorrow due to their refusal to treat me. I will be writing a formal complaint.

I am very sorry to read you have suffered 2 miscarriages in recent years and that your experiences of the care we provided has not met some of your needs on both occasions. I would like the opportunity to understand where we went wrong in providing you with the care you needed. I note that you will be submitting a formal complaint and so I will ensure that this receives the full attention of the key individuals at the Trust. I am sorry you feel we have failed again to meet your needs and I hope through the complaints process we are able to rectify this situation for you. Kind regards Alison Tong, Director of Nursing.
