"We are very grateful"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / NHS 111

(as a relative),

My wife who is elderly and infirm tripped and fell in our home. I could not lift her up so I rang 999 and I was told by the Ambulance call centre that a major incident had been declared and to ring 111..

This I did when the same particulars were taken and they said they would pass the message to the Ambulance service! ! !

2 and a half hours later the Ambulance crew of Geoff Wood and Alastair arrived. They helped my wife to her feet by means of a lift and then gave her a thorough medical check over.

They were both most reassuring, pleasant and helpful. Thank you so much We are very grateful for all the help they gave us. `

Dear hewstew

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope your wife is recovering well following her fall.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the 111 service and Geoff and Alistair who came to your aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards

Laura
